The government says it plans to adopt an "agile" approach to regulating artificial intelligence.

It's giving existing regulators ten million pounds to develop the skills and tools to address the risks AI poses to their different sectors.

It's also thinking of introducing future binding requirements for developers but says it won't rush to legislate with "quick-fix" rules for this rapidly-evolving technology.
