Smita Sabharwal – 2001 UPSC Rank 4, Telangana cadre, and famously known as the People’s Officer, has been transferred just for sharing just One AI-generated image. The image was regarding the protest against the Telangana Government’s proposed IT Park project. The image showed a peacock and a deer facing a bulldozer, was seen as symbolic protest against the Hyderabad University land acquisition.

After this post, she was summoned by the police and now alleges that the Govt is selectively targeting her. But this isn’t the first time she has questioned authority – from the Bilkis Bano case to PWD reservation in UPSC, Smita has always spoken out.
