In today's episode of our daily sheep farming vlog at Ewetopia Farms, we tackle the topic of artificial intelligence and its potential impact on the industry. Despite concerns about AI taking over jobs, our busy day on the farm proves that sheep farming requires a hands-on approach that can not be replaced by technology.
We start off by carefully moving our pregnant Dorset group from one pen to another while we remove manure in preparation for their upcoming lambing. The utmost care is taken to ensure the safety and well-being of the sheep.
Overnight, we deliver lambs and provide care for both the mother ewes and their newborns as they are settled into lambing jugs. The following morning, we prepare the lamb barns with fresh straw, anticipating the arrival of a new group of lambs. As we observe the lambs playing and enjoying their feed, we also witness the development of their wool, which will eventually grow into their adult fleeces.
Next, we load another group of lambs and ewes onto a trailer, as they are moved to a different barn to join the older lambs. Afterward, we empty out the lambing jugs to accommodate the new arrivals. These tasks require a level of care and attention that can not be replicated by artificial intelligence.
Through this video, we showcase the integral role of human intervention in sheep farming and highlight the potential limitations of AI in the livestock sector. Join us to witness the incredible bond between farmers and their animals and discover why there may still be hope for humanity in preserving traditional farming practices.
