Industry and Innovation Minister Tim Ayres has announced the Australian government's launch of a national artificial intelligence plan.
The three key principles mentioned are: harnessing economic opportunities through AI technology, ensuring equitable benefits for all workplaces across Australia, and enhancing safety for Australians.
“Today, we’ll be launching Australia’s National Artificial Intelligence Plan,” Mr Ayres said.
“The AI safety institute, a capability at the heart of government, that’s about testing new models, analysing threats and challenges, working across government with our regulators, our security and intelligence agencies, or financial regulators as well to ensure that we keep Australians safe.
“We want accountability, and we want absolute clarity, and that’s what this framework delivers.”
