Security and defence expert Ian Langford explains the Australian government’s launch of a national artificial intelligence plan.

“Where I think AI and policy needs to really focus on is how it leverages that technology in terms of productivity and growth,” Mr Langford told Sky News Australia.

“We’re seeing globally that the AI investment and the hyper scaling of data and technology, particularly around onshoring and bringing sovereignty to those opportunities, is where the policy needs to be.

“What I’m looking forward to is understanding how the government intends to turbocharge productivity, on how it intends to bring the future into the Australian workplace, and how it seeks to secure growth pathways.”
